New Jersey Post-Polio Network present

NJ Polio Network's 10th Anniversary Conference on PPS
"Keeping What We Have."
Princeton Marriott Forrestal Village, Princeton, New Jersey, USA.
Sunday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Karen E. Pape, Associate Professor, University of Toronto, Institute of Biomedical Engineering. Her topic is "New Options for the Management of Post-Polio Syndrome."

There will be six workshops (from which attendees can choose two):

  1. "Oh, My Aching Back!," Richard Bruno, PhD, Director, The Post-Polio Institute, Englewood (NJ) Hospital and Medical Center.
  2. "Accessible Home Modifications," Joan Abel, Architect, Access/Able Spaces by ABLE;DESIGN, Hoboken, NJ.
  3. "The Americans with Disabilities Act and its Importance to Polio Survivors," Clara R. Smit, Esq., East Brunswick, NJ.
  4. "Elder Law and Polio Survivors: Planning Ahead to Preserve Assets," Samuel L. Peluso, Esq., Lakewood and Shrewsbury, NJ.
  5. "How Chiropractic Can Help Polio Survivors," Vincent Avantagiato, DC, Denville, NJ.
  6. "Products to Solve Problems and Make Life Easier," TakeGoodCare, "The Healthcare Superstore For Everyone" Edison and Springfield NJ.

The lunchtime speaker will be Rosemarie D. Poverman, MSW, LCSW, with the topic of "The Positive Power of Humor."

A dinner Saturday night will give attendees an opportunity to meet informally with the speakers and each other. There will also be a Board of Directors meeting on Saturday afternoon at which all are welcome, and adjacent Forrestal Village provides a wheelchair-accessible opportunity to explore a number of factory outlet stores and restaurants.

The registration fee is $30 per person, which includes continental breakfast, lunch, and conference materials. The Saturday evening dinner at the Marriott is $30 per person, cash bar. The Marriott has set aside a block of rooms at a special price of $90 per room. Pre-registration is required, and all interested registrants should request a registration form from Jean Csaposs or Joan Swain, giving full mailing address. Completed registration forms should be returned by April 20th.
